I do watch this programme although it gets sillier each episode, did I miss something as I do not recall 'Liz Macdonald' ever getting a divorce from (so it is) Jim. Or are they planning an episode where she is charged with bigamy. That would be a new story line. Do they employ continuity people on these programmes? Why do they persist in calling it 'Corrie' it's as daft as sarnie for sandwich.

I find the actor that plays Chesney is a fantastic little actor and will go on to great things if he was my son I would be very very proud of him.

All TV soaps are for the brain dead, and this is in the wrong forum.

Whilst this subject may be in the wrong forum, surely it's unnecessary for your "brain dead" remarks!

Hope the newer members will soon find their way around the forums to enable them to locate the correct forum as efficiently as you do.

Joined very recently, just finding my way about and came across this topic and, as it's my favourite soap, thought I'd have a look. Why do soaps bring out the pompous in some people? Watching Coronation Street doesn't make you brain dead or depressed. The opposite, I would say. It's brilliant, intelligently scripted and acted. If the likes of Ian McKellan are queuing up to appear in it, it must be good.

People according to Medsec 22

If you watch Soap Operas you are brain dead and if you are a Christian you are not grown up. Anymore Chris?

Jenny

PS I watch Corrie. Ludicrous escapism, the same as Saga Zone

Does it really matter if we are brain - dead, it is only tv at the end of day. We have to have something to watch when we get home from work, and i really don't want to watch the news, too depressing.

And Coronation Street is always much better that Eastenders, that is plain silly, but at the end of the day, it is all soap land, and it is escapeism.

I also remember my mum and nan watching Elsie Tanner, Minnie Caldwell and also Davie Jones (as a youngster) in the days before the Monkees.

"C" St. RULES in every department for me from escapism to a topic on Sagazone. Can't help thinking that all the Corrieknockers are snobs.
What do they have to say about the quality actors queueing up for a walk on part like they did for Morcambe and Wise.

Who says it should be in the entertainment sub forum. I think the soapbox needs a little light relief now and again.
