I am sorry all you linking fans but I am blinking fed up with it.

Bring back chatting without linking, please - good topics and lighthearted banter are all that's needed in my humble opinion (like wireless radio before tv came along!).

Good morning all. I never received a "push" present or a card off my OH. Then I did present him with three girls.Big cheesy grin

A lot cooler last night and I slept an hour longer. Don't know if it was because it was quiet and we did not hear people going to work.

Enjoy your day playmates.

Morning Baggy. It's sunny here today and not as warm and humid as it has been. Yes it is a shame about the police dogs, but I thought handlers only had one each?

Morning Jeff, you popped in whilst I was typing.

Goodmorning all, sun out here having a job to get motivated this morning. Took a sleeping pill last night which I had over from when I had shingles. It did the trick of stoping me scratching the rash & thank goodness it is nearly gone today.Still putting antihismine cream on though.

Nothing much planned for today, unless OH cuts the hedges in which case I will be labourer!!

V. I read that one dog was ready for retiring, whilst other was training, perhaps that was the reason for the dog handler had two.

Glad you slept well Mill. Don't forget to replace the cream in the caravan before you go away.

Probably right if one of the dogs was due to retire. The officer usually keeps the retired dog. A friend of my husband's kept his retired dog and had the new one in the house. The new one went to attack the wife and the old dog protected her.

Morning all. Lots of sunshine again. Baggy, yes I saw about those 2 police dogs and was appalled. What an idiot! Those poor dogs would have really suffered. It makes me so angry when I see dogs locked in cars in this weather. Rant over!
Jeff how did your medical go? Hope you've found your phone Cat. Mu enjoy your saga meet. Mill, glad the antihistamine worked.
Boring ironing for me today. Needs must and all that!Well Chuffed

Good morning all,
I too read about the police dogs and was horrified, as had just been watching RSPCA on tv, they were at a show, going round all the car parks looking for cars with open windows, they broke into a couple and got dogs out, but one sadly had been left 5 HOURS, do people never learn.
Much cooler night here, raining at moment with bit of a breeze, so not sure if grass will get cut later on, as want to watch the tennis tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good weekend whatever you have planned.
Bye for now.

Morning everyone. FINALLY found the phone!!!! Looked in the car again this morning - no sign of it. All over the house again - nowhere to be seen. Rang a friend and got her to ring and it was in the car - but it took her ringing 4 times before I could locate it! Underneath the passenger seat there is a plastic tray which pulls out and somehow it had wedged itself under there - aaarrrrgghhh! Must have wasted about 2 hours searching for the damn thing.

Got to give back one of the cars someone had loaned me so have spent the morning emptying it and giving it a clean. Halfway through hosing it down the end thingy came off the hose and I got drenched - oh well it cooled me down a bit.

Mu, enjoy your meeting - long way for you to go? Marg what a shame you don't have any transport because Banbury isn't that far from you - if I had been in England we could have gone together. Glad to hear it's a bit cooler for you - is your foot any better now?

Did you read with the police dogs that the (unnamed) policeman is now on compassionate leave? Should be suspended on no pay pending an enquiry - probably have counselling at our expense after as well.

Mill how lucky to have someone to cut your hedges - I have got to pay to get someone in so only do it when I have to - e.g. friends coming or neighbours complaining!

Good afternoon all, here I am bringing up the rear again, and what a rear, I hear you say.
Glad all turned out well Monica, new it had to be in the car because you didnt get my call indoors.
What are yu like.
How is the knee? my foot only hurts now if I sit around too much, it needs constant stretching.
Jeff, we could do our excercises together if we both had the camera thingys, but then I might frighten you, so maybe not.
Not a pretty sight me rolling round the floor.
Baggy, am ok, now, though exhausted from cutting the lawn, and clearing up more weeds and cutting back. Its never ending, isnt it, perhaps I should stop watering then it wouldnt grow so fast.
How are you? sleeping off your night shift I suppose.

Mu, never heard of a push present, would have been lucky to get a cup of tea from my OH.I needed the help of a police surgeon when my son was born at home,on the sofa. You should have heard her comments about men when she left, not impressed at all, come to that neither was I.
Its hot here again but not as bad as last week, thank goodness.
Am going to sit in the garden and read, and admire all my hard work, not finished yet by any means.
The story of the poor dogs really upset me too, think thats what brought on the shivers.
Have a nice afternoon all, speak to you later Hiya V, what you doing?Big Grin

My OH was in the bathroom when I needed to get to the hospital Marge. Then when I said how desperate I was to get there he panicked. Had eldest an hour after I got to the hospital.Big cheesy grin

Hi V , think we will have a chinese tonight .
My first born was 12 weeks early weighing 2pounds 12 oz. I was in and out of hospital for most of the pregnancy , with scary complication. Both he and I were fine in the end though, My OH bought me a lovely gold bracelet.
Second born was a month early and took us quite by surprise too, but was a normal weight, I got another gold bracelet.Big Grin
We never called them "push" presents though, just "I love you" ones.HappyHappy
DIL has just rung they are comming over at 11am tomorrow with the kids so they can get them ready for the service here, as it will be hot and I am only 200yds from the church, so that will be more happy chaos tomorrow.

My first one was a week early. The second two weeks and the third three weeks. That caused a bit of bother as it was going to be a caesarian. Wouldn't mind I'd been to the hospital the day before and told the doctor I thought I'd started labour. More or less told me I didn't know what I was on about.Upset Got told off the following day when I went as I was going to be started two weeks later. Sorry, the baby didn't want to wait.

Enjoy your organised mayhem or I should say disorganised mayhem tomorrow Lindy.

Nice having a full house.

No Llindy, nothing like that, it had been going on too long and the midwife called an emergency doctor on call who happened to be the N. London police surgeon who also worked with the coroner.
That frightened me and my son arrived just before I was to be carted off to hospital.
There was always a drama going on in my home in those days..
Llindy, if I had got a gold bracelet for that occasion it would have been in the pawnshop before I was up and about.
Do you remember the 10 days lying in period after a birth, when mothers got up in the night did the washing and ironing and then went back to bed before the midwife came back in the morning.
Those were the days.Wink

The hospital where I was born was actually called "The Lying-In Hospital" in York Road, Lambeth - opposite the House of Parliament. Does that make me a Cockney does anyone know?
