About 12 months ago I suffered hearing loss in one ear, and now struggle to hear the TV properly. Can anyone recommend an amplifier which connects via phono plugs or scart lead and provides good quality sound through headphones?
TIA

How about this?
The only drawback I can see is that it has no balance control.

I can watch and hear Tv without my hearing aids. I have recently bought wireless headphones. It plugs into the headphone socket and I switch on the headphones. The reception is first class. The only drawback is that the Tv speakers are cut off when the headphone socket is used. There is a volume control and tuning facility on the phones which are Sennheiser. They retail about £45.

Thanks briancb, but my wife needs to hear as well, so any thing which connects to the headphone socket is a non starter, thanks anyway.

Thanks also moneymaker, I saw the same thing on Amazon for about £19, but couldn't find any alternatives, so wanted to see if anyone here had found another product.

As I said dinnerlaydee, I lost the hearing in one ear which means that I can no longer hear normal speech or hear the TV, so I need headphones to provide close-coupled sound.

But as briancb explained in his post, the TV sound cuts off when you plug headphones into the TV socket.

I'm forever losing things. Sometimes they turn up in the fridge! Music

We all have our crosses to bear. I won't bore you with my medical problems (including deafness). You have to laugh about it or you'd go crazy. Be assured that I'm laughing with you and not at you. Happy
