Gas hob ignition

has anyone encountered the problem of the ignition spark just continually firing, with the only way to stop it by turning off the electrical supply. If so what was the remedy??

Hi
Have you been cleaning the hob and left a bit of water in there, this happened to me once and I had to dry the burner off to stop it.

Cleaning product or damp around the button that you press?
