I was surprised to receive a letter from Saga advising me that when my current card expires at the end of July to apply for a new one I would have to have an income of £12.000 per annum before tax.There must be many people like me whose income is made up of little more than the state pension. When I spoke to someone at Saga I was advised it had taken two years to find another credit card provider at this level as owing to the credit crunch most providers only wanted people with an annual income of £24.000. The first card company I applied to have issued me with a card so I am not unduly worried.
