"Siglo-Matic" ballpoint pen

Old2hat Posts: 142	Subject: Car boot bargain Posted At: 16/09/2009 22:01:34 I bought a very posh-looking US made ballpoint pen at a boot-sale today, it's very well made and seems to be rolled gold, yet I can find no references to it from Google. Can anyone help? It was £1, BTW!

Thanks for trying to help, though! I should say that it's identical in shape to the regular "Cross" ballpoint, except where the Cross has a tapered black 'plug' at the top, on this the metal barrel tapers in to the exact shape of the plug; and where the Cross has lateral engraved lines this has fine lines engraved round the circumference about 0.5mm apart. It does not however, take Cross refills but W H Smiths' own brand narrow metal tube ones shortened and nipped in for the spring retainer lower down, work perfectly and write very nicely.

Purwell Posts: 76	Subject: Re: Car boot bargain Posted At: 03/12/2009 11:10:58 By Googling the word Siglo I came across reference to a Restaurant/Nightclub in Edingburgh & "matic pens" would appear to be made by Bic, Alvin,Staedler etc. Maybe yours was a promotion by this club?
