I think the Hosts have forgotten that Sagazone is three years old now. Not a mention have I seen, except my post in Chat about the enjoyment I have had, logging on for three years. Even I can't believe it's that long. As I said, doesn't time fly when you're having a good time. Congratulations Sagazone. Keep up the good work.

Hi yes, it was the launch of Saga Zone on January 19th 2007 and so it is three years now since people have been joining in here, and I hope that we go from strength to strength. Z L

If that is the case, or even if it is not, Happy Birthday Sagazone!
I have been a member for just short of 2 years 3 months. In that time I have been pleased to meet a lot of very nice people at Saga meetings here in Cornwall and in several other regions. It has been a very enjoyable experience.
Cheers Everybody,
John

May I add my congratulations on reaching the 3rd Anniversary of Saga Zones. I now have a wider circle of friends - some I only know via PM's and others I know as I have met them face-2-face. I hope that during 2010 I shall get the chance of meeting more of my on-line friends face-2-face and that my friendships will grow as time passes.
Chris
Edit: I have been a Zone member since 28 Feb 2007 and as already mentioned by somebody, that time has really flown by.

Congratulations from me, too. I was actually a member of the previous Saga Circles and when it became clear that it was very successful, Saga decided to expand it and call it Saga Zone. They then transferred those of us who wished to be, over to the new Zone but this took a little while, during which time both systems were working alongside each other.
I enjoy the Zone very much and have made a number of good friends although all except one, do not live anywhere near me but I have been able to meet some of them, mainly through the Meet-ups I arrange each year in various parts of the country for members of our Classical Music Club. The great thing about the Zone is that we can adapt it to fit our needs, either becoming involved with the various activities and Meet-ups or just observing everything but not playing an active role. Here's to the next year!

Hi Teragram - it was the third birthday for Saga Zone on the 19th January 2010 and so this is an old thread, but I am pleased that you continue to enjoy being here as much as I do. Z L

I replied to this original posting the other day while I was taking a short break amongst all the chaos here of having my outside windows and doors painted, some of which have been taken out in order to reach difficult bits. I have a four bedroom, detached house and it's a huge job. Everything has had to be covered over with dust sheets and lots of things removed from the rooms. As well as this, I'm also preparing to go away for a few days, so with all this going on, I'm afraid I wasn't paying my normal attention to the dates on these postings. I was a member of the original Zone which was called Saga Circles which Saga commenced and when it proved to be successful, they decided to expand and rename it.

Thanks for that Teragram, I just could not retrieve the original name from the memory bank Saga Circles - I must write this down somewhere

Sagazone did exist in the early part of 2007. Pity that the powers-that-be didn't think to tell the existing Members about the 'launch'.
Quote from your link : Around 13,000 people signed up to the website when it launched as a trial four months ago. Huh! That's wrong too. More like eight months.
Talk about 'smoke and mirrors'!

It's not my link as such, just one I found and used to give some background.

I remember being quite surprised when I saw on TV, in October 2007, that Saga Zone had just been launched with a metaphorical fanfare of trumpets, interviews with people who'd decided to join and so on. I'd been a member since January!
