I have a Sony KDL-26U2000 LCD digital colour TV, and a Panasonic DVD/VCR recorder.
Left both on last night to record Frost on ITV3 via the EPG.
It is recommended to leave the TV on stand-by overnight from time to time, to get any software upgrades.
This morning, BBC programs are all OK, but ITV, CH4 & 5 etc started off all pixellated, and now although audio is there, a blank screen displays the message "Selected programme is not tuned"
I have tried retuning several times, with no success. All was perfectly OK before this morning.
Any help will be appreciated.

If everything was OK yesterday and nothing has broken on your equipment, then it could be due to a reduced signal from the transmitter for maintenance work or it could be due to the weather between you and the transmitter effecting the signal. To check, check out the transmitter website to see if maintenance is being carried out. If it is due to atmospheric conditions then it should improve when the weather changes. You will need to retune when the weather improves and you have your normal signal strength again. Have the same problem myself from time to time. Happy Big cheesy grin

Thanks, Sandgrounder.
Did that, and there is maintenance going on till the end of the week, and they are warning of weak signals.
It seems others have the same problem (Oxford transmitter).
Forums on that site advise waiting till then before taking action.
Strange though, that the small digital TV upstairs is OK.
I'm using separate aerials.

im not impressed by this new digital carry on. I agree that when you do get a good signal, the picture quality is so much better, especially on these new type flat screen tvs. Ive a toshiba 1080 p and its very good. Unfortunately I live right on the edge of the tyne tees transmitter yet im closer to yorkshire tv,but because im in a dip i cannot receive a good enough signal. Ive had all sorts of signal reception problems so ive been advised that unless they upgrade even more before the full swicth over my best bet is cable or sky......dont want to have to pay but if it gives me uninterupted viewing then so be it

Since the last digital upgrade, which caused it's own raft of problems for people, my system (TV fitted with digibox) keeps dropping programmes, also the speech keeps going out of sinc with the picture - the only way round it seems to be to switch the power off and let the digibox re-set itself.

So far - apart from tuning to loads of different programmes (only one or two of which I ever want to access) I have experienced no positive benefits from Digital - only a load of faffing about to keep viewing what was always readily available to me.

This link may help folk who have tuning problems.

From the same site:
"OXFORD transmitter - ord Transmitter Works: Since Monday 01 February 2010, transmissions from Oxford have been from a reserve antenna, which may be affecting reception for some viewers. This is in preparation for digital switchover work and signals are currently liable to reduced power and short interruptions, for which we apologise. Work is expected to last for approximately 2 months, with services scheduled to be restored to the main Oxford antenna by early April.
Over the next week Oxford main transmitter: TV (analogue) Possible weak signal, TV (digital) Possible weak signal, Radio (analogue) Possible weak signal, Radio (digital) Possible weak signal. "

So far, today, my reception is OK.
