Saw an ad for Pangasius fish fillets - never seen any before. Anyone know what they're like?

I think you will find they are farmed catfish from asia. You may well have already eaten some without knowing by way of frozen packets just labelled 'white fish fillets' sold in supermarkets or from fish shops. It is much cheaper than cod and haddock. Also may be used in other food products - pastes etc.
I am not certain if I am right but I have tried these packs and the fish lacks the full taste of the likes of cod and is totally lacking the texture.

They are produced commercially, they do not live wild, and the news is that they are not very nice, do take care with this fish, and please let me know if you do try it, you never know it might be nice.

Don't think I'll bother! Google put me off. Stick with something I know. Thanks all.
