Happy Well good news for the huskies, the excursion is fully booked but Upset I'm not happy. Crying Worse news at the dentist's today (and expensive) good job the hol is already booked! Big cheesy grin Good news at the hospital in that my thyroid man complimented me on the weight loss and said he needs me to inspire his diabetic patients - thanks Judith and co for all your support. "Helped" the OH eat his Christmas present of fudge last night Oops
Aron, yes I'm doing the cruise on my own, have travelled quite a bit without the OH but this is the first time not knowing anyone! My reasoning was that if I was a widow I'd just have to get on with life and I'm not ready to be a complete couch potato yet - just 95% of the time Wink

Good for you, LindylouHappy I don't think I would be brave enough to go on a cruise on my own ! Bet you felt great when you had the compliment about your weight.

I think i must have put on some more weight - I keep wanting to eat , it's this awful weather ( my excuse anyway ! )

Hi all.. I'm managing to maintain still ( fingers crossed ! ) I made some lovely Red pepper and tomato soup other day, and its nice to get back to eating proper foods again though mostly I've been eating ok, its just the cold meats and stand pie and pickles for every meal that I've been mainly eating ( I can eat the same food in a 'run' it doesn't bother me really )

I think I like the Christmas cold meats. I have a plateful with silverskin onions, apple sauce, sage and onion, Branston, and abit of stand pie on the side. Only had 2 portions trifle. No chocs, a couple of drinks. NoXmas pudding or cake.

I do like a biscuit with my coffee and cream in my coffee.

Anyway, back to normal. are you doing any more blogs/videos Judith ?

( I hope your brother is doing ok )

Happy new year to all ( again )

I was a bit naughty over Christmas, and did eat cake, mince pies & Christmas pud & consequently paid the price of weight gain, but went straight back to my eating plan & all the weight has gone now and I only have 3lbs left to my 5 stone goal! I also measured myself yesterday, & am am down 1.1/2" on waist & hips since 6th \December for some reason - I've no idea why - I am the same weight! Well Chuffed

What about others? How are your measurements to weight going?

Have been fine this week food and drink wise as I am off both!!

TBL keep up the good work. Last week I sat down and worked out my menus for the week and managed to stick to them for all of 2 days, but I was good for the rest of the week and until Tuesday I hadn't lost any weight, but lost over 1" off my waist, last night at weigh in I had lost 1.5lbs, so quite pleased with that. I have joined the 'lose 2lbs a week' challange on the fatsecret website to give me added incentive. So back to the menus again this week, but as the weather is looking a bit better now I shall be walking to the allotment and getting some exercise that way. it all helps. Judith my best wishes to you too. Hoping to see less of you all.

Hi all

Aron, I have lost so much, because I had an awful lot to loose! Another pound off today, which means I only have 2 more pounds to go before I meet my 5 stone target. I still have a couple of weeks until my year is up though, so I have every confidence that I can do it.

All those clothes though - They are H U G E ! Bit scared to throw them all out though. Is that silly? I just don't have any confidence (silly me) Help please!

Get well soon Judith and all those others with colds/coughs and other such nasties!

Big cheesy grin Well done Trueblue, you've done fantastically well. Ditch the too large clothes, there's no way you're going to gain again - we won't let you let yourself or us down. Remember you've got to keep inspiring us along with Judith. Besides you'll need room in the wardrobe for all your new gear Big Grin
Feeling like giving up today and would probably have done so if it wasn't for all of you! Decided it's probably the infection that's left me out of sorts.
You never know there may be a cancellation for the the dog-sledding so I've got to give the huskies a fighting chance in case I get on the trip. I live in hope Happy
Get well soon Judith.

Happy new year everyone, happy new link!
I did get on the scales at some point last week but got off them again quick before I really saw what it said! Have got back to normal this week, normal food (apart from finishing off some cheese which hasn't helped) and back to gym, didn't walk on Tuesday as it was blowing a hooley here.
Weighed myself this morning and 72kg, my target as ever is 68kg so my BMI will be 25... will I get below the 70kg level this year? 2kg is just under 4 and a half pounds, hmm, 4kg is 8.8 pounds, over half a stone. Feeling quite inspired now, we'll have to see how 2012 goes.
Out to dinner next Tuesday which won't help, but apart from that January should be a month of abstemiousness.

Well done TBL - ok, you had a lot to lose. But don't talk yourself down. You've done all the hard work and it's paid off. A real inspiration.

As is Judith - her pictures from the Saga magazine showing her body-shape changes over 2011 are stuck to my fridge front. Another inspiration.

I'm hopeful for really good results in 2012. I'm 60 in December and would love to be 10lbs lighter by then. Not a lot I hear you all saying. But I've very fond of it, held on to it for the last 20 years. It's not wanted to leave meWink Wish me luck.Happy

Good Luck Maggie !

Penny.. you need to creep up on your scales when they're not looking !

and tbl...if you've lost 5 stone then your clothes definitely need throwing ( or giving to Charity ) I am still wearing the same clothes give or take a couple of pairs of jeans/cords, but I didnt lose all that much and sizes tend to vary in different shops anyway.. I have a pair of size 12 Jeans from Tesco that fit me better than a pair of size 8 jeans from Gap ! ( the size 8s are just so baggy !) I think they have put the wrong size on and I should really have taken them back - too late now..but it just goes to show how the so called sizes are completely haywire.

Isn't January a tad depressing, except when you're doing your menus for the week and picking out all the lovely non fattening food you can eat and then you write it all down in a notebook and hope you don't lose the notebook! I am now into my 2nd week of doing this and getting inspired by the magazines that you buy at weigh in. I love coming on here because there is so much encouragement from everyone. Hoping to see less of you all next time.

Hello everyone,

Sorry, I've had a really rotten start to 2012, everything's gone wrong so far, but is now beginning to get sorted out. I won't bore you with details 'cos it's really for a chat zone, not a slimming one. Cat is still Ok and doing well, just in case you think that's one of the things gone wrong.

I am so impressed with everyone's positive results in spite of Christmas. I still haven't weighed myself but I feel fine and the new clothes are still OK.

LindyLou, love your comment about if you were a widow you'd have to do things on your own, so that's why you're going away on your own. That's exactly how I felt when my husband died.

I had known for years (having been told by a doctor on the quiet) he wouldn't make old bones (smoking), so I kept saying, when I'm on my own I'll do this, etc. When it eventually happened, a week later I sat on the end of the bed and said out loud 'well, you always said what you'd do when you were a widow, so b****y well get on with it'. (I still miss him after 19 years, even though I now have my lovely Bunny).

I don't think I've eaten that much, but the biscuits and chocolates everyone gave us do have to be eaten, so the quicker they go, the better!! That's our excuse, anyway.

I shall be interested to see how we get into this new set up of the site. Hopefully no problems.

Happy New Year everyone - at least mine can only get better! Jenny. Big Grin Big cheesy grin

TBL hun, you have done it, so flaunt it - in some new clothes. You have every right to be proud of your self. A magnificent result! Big cheesy grin

Jenny I hope things keep on improving for you. And really for everyone in 2012.

I have made a start and have lost 2lbs of the blubber I'd added to the rest over the Christmas period. Hmmm Happy
